Open Letter Tag Heuer Link Calibre 16

Dear Watch Community,

We are very excited to announce the official launch of our company, Life on the Wrist! Before we get into the company, we thought we would let you know who we are, the people behind the company. We know that the watch community has been plagued with mistrust, and being a new company does not make our introduction into this amazing community any easier. But, we hope to start the conversation of trust by explaining who we are.

First and foremost, we are horology enthusiasts just like you. We have been involved in the watch community on a personal level for over a decade. We are lucky enough to have over nine years of experience living in Switzerland and of course, visit frequently. Because we were able to live in the motherland of watchmaking, we were bitten by the notorious ‘watch-bug’. Like the invisible-hand principle from economics 101, this ‘watch-bug’ has subtly forced us to read, watch, photograph and ultimately buy watches. Our watches have become part of our lives as we treat them as a part of ourselves, and take them on all the amazing adventures we go on. These beautiful memories with our watches are why we wanted to start this company.

Life on the Wrist is a watch store and blog that has watch stories at the forefront of our mission. Everyone has experiences with their watches that would make an explanation of their watch incomplete without telling it. We aim to sell high quality watches to our customers, but also provide them with the life of the watch. We want to tell our customers that their Rolex Submariner was used by a diver in the Pacific. Or that their Omega Seamaster was a ‘daily wearer’ for a banker in the 80’s. Or that their Lecoultre Triple Calendar Moonphase was a ‘safe queen’, and is in true new old stock condition, complete with box and papers. Our mission is simple; give you the stories behind the watches, and have you build on the incredible life of the watch with your own adventures.

Graduation Gift

So, that is us! We are extremely excited to share this amazing experience with you. We cannot wait to tell you about the amazing lives of the watches we source. Even better, we cannot wait to hear about the adventures they go on with you!

The watch you see photographed in this post was one of our members’ high school graduation gifts from his parents, the Tag Heuer Link Calibre 16. Even though it is a relatively young watch, the adventures it has been on are endless. It was on the wrist of its owners while he was eating pasta and drinking wine on Lago Maggiore, but also celebrated New Years in New Orleans on Bourbon Street. I guess you will have to stay tuned for our post on it to hear all the other adventures it has been on!

Let’s create some amazing watch stories!

Best,

Life on the Wrist
