If you are attending auctions like Phillips and Christie’s, you will also be able to boast verification of authenticity for the watches you purchase. These watches typically command a premium because of the event, but security is definitely worth the cost.

Retailers/online retailers can have many of the same positives especially if they are reputable and have been a part of the watch industry for a long time. Often times the watches are priced slightly lower in comparison to live auctions, but it really comes down to trusting the dealer.
