The Perfect Three Piece Watch Collection Under $3000

We created our perfect three piece watch collection for under $5000 and so we decided to do it again - this time for under $3000.

$3000 is a substantial amount of money and to find three watches to buy can be difficult. There are many options within this price point and many ways to slice the prices for these three watches. The assumptions we made when making this collection are:

  1. Prices are based in the market we operate in.

  2. This three piece collection are to our taste.

  3. This is not the only three piece watch collection.

When one gets into watches, one typically looks for something on the sportier side that can take a beating. This reason is why most people end up buying a Rolex Submariner as their first watch. Sticking with this trend the first watch we recommend is the Oris Aquis. This watch comes in many variations so you can get creative with it and find one that suits your taste. It is a dive watch with 300m water resistance so plenty if you plan on diving with it. It runs on the Oris caliber 733 which is a modified Sellita SW200. You can probably pick this watch up for around $1200.

The next watch is a Longines Heritage Conquest. This watch can act as your ‘special occasion’ piece that is a bit dressier than the Aquis. The takes its design queues from the vintage Conquests from Longines. The watch is extremely wearable and from a brand with great history. It runs off the Longines L633 which is a modified ETA 2824-2. You can pick this watch up for around $1000.

Lastly, I think every collector should own a Seiko at some point in their watch collecting journey. Instead of the typical SKX007, we recommend the SRP777. Its robust like all Seikos but includes hacking seconds, drilled lugs and is not the mass-recommended SKX. You can find the SRP777 for well under the remaining $800 you have.

Enjoy!
