My Ideal Watch Collection From Independent Watch Companies

It is no secret that we love independent watch companies. They create some extremely unique watches that are really push the boundaries of watchmaking and move watchmaking as an art into the future. For those who think similarly, you may want to create an entire collection just from these types of companies. We have created our collection of independent watch companies. It is a three watch collection and includes an everyday watch which is our absolute favourite watch; a GMT because we do a lot of travelling; and a chronograph because it is our favourite complication.

The first watch, and it is no surprise, is the MB&F Legacy Machine 1. We would go for the 18k white gold and grey dial version. The flying balance wheel captured us every since we first saw it, and there really is no going back after that. Max’s vision for the company is also something that we completely agree with, and is why we cover them so much.

The second watch would be the De Bethune DB25 World Traveller. It is a 45mm white gold watch so it is only the larger side. The reason we chose this watch is because of the unique way they display the GMT function. There is a silver ball on the dial which is the indicator for the second time zone. It also features a date function which is always useful. When you look at the movement, the futuristic space ship is looking back at you - a real site to be seen.

Our chronograph would be the FP Journe Rattrapante - because who would not want a two handed chronograph. We would go for the titanium version for its unique case metal. The watch movement on this piece is an absolute work of art - the depth is completely insane and is something you have to see in the metal.

Enjoy!
