Watches from the Future - Flying Cars, Tourbillons, and LaFerrari

Watch companies have been extremely creative in the way they design their watches. There has been so much diversity in the materials watches are made or, how the dials are laid out, or how time is told by their intricate movements. So much so that a lot of these insane pieces are like watches that have come from the future. Here are five examples of crazy looking and designed watches that could definitely transport you to 2120.

Rebellion T-1000 Gotham

Rebellion runs a Motorsports racing team and with that they also create very limited quantities of watches. The T-1000 is named such because they have created a watch with 1000 hours of power reserve. The watch is pretty cool looking, made of titanium with a manual wind movement. The design of telling the time on this watch is really what transports it to the future.

De Bethune Dream Watch 5.2

De Bethune has been featured on Life on the Wrist a few times. This watch really reminds us of the design of a flying car. It is a half sphere of steel and titanium with a black zirconium case. It has discs that rotate to tell the time and has a moon to the left of the time that is just so unique. Again, similar to the T-1000, the design of this watch really makes you feel like your car should be hovering.

MB&F HM9

MB&F is a regular on Life on the Wrist. The watch has a horizontal display of the time with two balance wheels towards the back of the watch. The watch is a driving watch and definitely aids itself to telling the time while holding the steering wheel. But for this watch, you will be riding in the De Bethune Dream Watch 5.2 inspired hovering vehicle.

Jacob&Co Astronomia Tourbillon

A picture is definitely worth a thousand words with this watch. The watch has a huge domed case with sapphire crystal throughout the watch. It features a four axis piece of metal that has various displays on them. The tourbillon and time are on opposite ends of one of the metal pieces. The other pieces is where the earth and moon are opposite. These four pieces rotate around the sapphire and gold watch - this type of movement is definitely for the future!

Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari

The last watch is all about the different way of constructing the watch. The main futuristic element of the MP-05 LaFerrari from Hublot are the 11 series-coupled barrels that run down the center of the watch. The wath has 7 weeks of power reserve and has the time on one side of the watch and the power reserve on the other.

Enjoy!
