The History of the Hamilton Otis, the Other Reverso Watch

The History of the Hamilton Otis, the Other Reverso Watch

The Hamilton Otis is a watch produced in the late 1930’s by famous watchmaker Hamilton. This watch is similar in its design to the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso in that its case can be flipped over to display a solid caseback. This function protects the dial crystal but also displays a blank slate where a design can be added. There was a lot of controversy as to how they could produce this watch while Jaeger LeCoultre had a patent on this design. We debunk this myth, and give you the history and truth about this extrodinarily rare and interesting watch.

A huge shout out to Hamilton Chronicles for all the research they did. A great summary of this watch can be found here.

Enjoy!
