A. Lange & Söhne Triple Split, Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar, Watches and Wonders 2021

This year, A. Lange & Söhne released a group of watches that refreshed their already incredible watches. The watches played on dial colours and case metals to create a line-up of watches that feel quite different than their predecessors. They not only add to their collection but create some very collectable limit editions that will get watch enthusiasts excited.

In 2018, A. Lange & Söhne released a triple split chronograph that was one of the show stoppers at SIHH. The triple split chronograph complication is an extension of the split second complication which is already extremely difficult to make. A split second chronograph has two chronograph hands that allow the wearer to time two things independently. A double split second chronograph had two chronograph hands that time the seconds independently, and also has two minutes hands that keep track of the minutes that have elapsed by each seconds hands. This watch is a triple split, which has two seconds hands, two minutes hands, and two hours hands - a very difficult thing to manufacture. The watch released is a new dial and case combination - a rose gold case and blue dial version of this watch. The combination of blue and gold has always gone well together and this watch is no exception. This reference, the 424.037F, will be limited to 100 pieces.

The manufacture also released a Lange 1 featuring a seamlessly integrated perpetual calendar complication. The Lange 1 is an extremely iconic design that produced a watch with an impeccably well spaced dial layout. Most of the time, perpetual calendar complications take up a ton of room, so on the surface, to think of adding a perpetual calendar to a Lange 1 would mean the dial would be completely overhauled, and it would completely alter an almost perfect dial layout. But one should expect nothing less from A. Lange & Söhne who seamlessly integrated the perpetual calendar complications to the dial of these watches. These watches come in pink and white gold (the white gold will be limited to 150 pieces) with grey of pink gold dials.

The last watch was a pair of Lange 1’s with gold flux dials, often used by companies like Van Cleef and Arpels. These watches feature a beautiful blue dial with gold flux which undoubtable make one feel as if they were staring into the night sky. There are two versions of these 37mm white gold cased watches - one with diamonds around the top of the dial and another without. These watches will join the other Lange 1’s in the collection to give another feel to the breadth of Lange 1’s one could wear.

Enjoy!
