In June 2021, MB&F presented a timepiece called “M.A.D.1” – this was not an MB&F Machine, but a more accessible timepiece that we created under a different brand, M.A.D.Editions. Of course there was a huge market that was interested in getting an MB&F watch, but the price and production numbers made it a bit difficult for everyone to get their hands on a piece.

The reception for the watch was incredible - so many people wanted to get their hands on the watch but the M.A.D.1 watch reserved for those MB&F officially call "The Friends", meaning the suppliers who helped create the MB&F Machines; and to the members of "The Tribe", the owners of MB&F machines: the patrons who have made MB&F’s adventure possible.

Well, the overwhelming interest helped the brand release their new piece, the M.A.D.1 RED, a similar piece to the original, only this time, in cherry red instead of blue.

The watch features the 44mm case with the iconic, fully visible triple-blade, titanium and tungsten rotor winds one of the rare automatic movements with unidirectional winding (essential for an easy, high-speed rotation), the reliable Miyota 821A, flipped upside-down – a nod to MB&F's HM3 and HM8. Time is displayed laterally thanks to revolving hour and minute cylinders, engraved and boosted with Super-LumiNova.

For this release of the watch, the Mad Edition will be available initially to those who had shown tremendous interest in the original release. From there, a lottery has been released so those who are interested can sign up for the lottery here and get a chance at owning a very cool piece that packs a lot of punch, both from a design perspective and in watchmaking.
