Breitling Chronograph, Duograph and Datora, Watches and Wonders 2021

This year, Breitling took their inspiration from their past and released a trio of incredible vintage inspired watches that really stood out at Watches and Wonders. These three captured the attention of vintage watch lovers but gave them enough modern flair to make them their own thing.

The first watch is the Breitling Premier Heritage B09 Chronograph that came in two version. These chronographs are truly the definition of vintage. The 40mm watch looks uncannily like the Premier watches released in 1943 by Breitling. The watch features two sub dials, at 3 and 9 o’clock and has a tachymeter around the outside of the dial. It features beautiful rectangular chronograph that starts and stops the incredible Caliber B09 from Breitling that can be seen by the display caseback. The watch comes in two version, one in steel with a pistachio green (yes, you read that correctly) which actually looks way better than it sounds. It also comes in a in 18k red gold with a silver dial that looks phenomenal as well.

The next watch is the Breitling Duograph, a watch that collectors have been calling for Breitling to release for some time. Again, the watch has many of the vintage inspired aesthetics that we saw in the Premier Heritage B09 Chronograph, namely the applied Arabic numerals and dial configuration. But this time, this is a split second chronograph from Breitling that you don’t see very often, but is loved by collectors especially vintage enthusiasts. The watch comes in two version, with a blue dial and stainless steel case and an inky black dial version with a 18k red gold case.

The 42mm case houses the Breitling caliber B15 which is based on the B03 caliber that was based on their first in house chronograph caliber, the B01. The movement utilizes a lever instead of a cylindrical pin to separate the stopped wheel from the gear train to reduce friction on the chronograph and increase efficiency. This is a patented innovation that really shows the ability of the manufacture.

The final watch of this trio if the Breitling Datora, a beautiful calendar chronograph that has the perfect amount of vintage flair and modern revolution. The Breitling Heritage Premier B25 Datora comes in two version, in a steel case with copper dial and in 18k red gold with a silver dial. The watch runs on the manual wind Breitling caliber B25 and features Hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph, day, date, month, moon phase perfectly position to match the vintage calendar chronographs many love. At 42mm it will be larger than your typical vintage calendar chronograph but makes it that much more appealing to the modern collector. This definitely will be competing with many of the big boys if someone is looking for a classic-looking, complicated watch with incredible heritage and watchmaking.

Enjoy!
