The Tag Heuer Mario Connected Watch

Smart watches, or connected watches have become an integral role of every day life for many individuals. There are some very big players, Apple and the like, who have created watches that connect one to their technology seamlessly. They have also created a way to track day to day activity that can boost the active time of the average human. Watch companies, like Tag Heuer and Hublot have ventured into this space with their own watches. Tag Heuer recently released their Mario Connected Watch, a chance for the wearer to have some fun with their smart watch experience.

The Mario Connected watch is exactly that; the Connected watch that Tag Heuer released with a SuperMario theme to it. The interface has Mario all over it with some very interesting features to it. The case of the watch also brings out the Mario motif, with a signed crown with the letter ‘M’, a black bezel with images at 3, 6, 9, 12 of iconic features in the Mario games, like a mushroom and super star. The 46mm watch also comes on a red and black strap.

One of the coolest features is the way Tag Heuer integrated Mario into some of the health milestones. When the wearer reaches 25% of their step goal, Mario appears and eats a super mushroom that supersizes him. At 50%, Mario appears and goes down one of the iconic green pipes. Once one hits 75% of their steps goal, Mario comes in contact with a ‘super star’ where he becomes invincible. Upon completing the daily steps goal, Mario goes up a flagpole as he does when he wins in any of the games.

The watch is a limited edition, although we could not find the exact amount of these that would be produced. By Tag Heuer connecting with the the Super Mario franchise, it opens up a whole host of possibilities on other connected watches. It is interesting that they decided to create a limited edition watch instead of a separate interface, but by creating the watch, it makes the idea a lot more collectable.

Enjoy!
