Three New Dial Colours for the MB&F LM101

Three New Dial Colours for the MB&F LM101

Last week, MB&F released a fresh set of dial colours for their beloved Legacy Machine 101 (LM101). There were some small changes that were made to the original LM101 design as well which feels like a breath of fresh air for an extremely popular model from MB&F. Some are more on the design side of things, others involve the movement that makes this watch so great.

Three new versions of the LM101 were released. A white gold cased LM101 with a striking purple dial, a red gold with a handsome dark blue dial and a stainless steel case with a light blue dial which is a very rare thing to find for MB&F. The dial of these watches are no longer engraved, but have a high-gloss lustre finishing to it which was created using the process called Laque Tendue. This really gives the dials a hugely appealing and eye-catching look to them. The dial of the watch also has slightly larger sub-dials, but not too large to take away from the mesmerizing flying balance wheel. The case of the watch also has a slimmer bezel, which is noticeable only when you compare the new and previous version of the LM101 together.

As we move to the movement, MB&F has continued their work with H Moser and utilized their Straumann double hairspring in their flying balance wheel. This changes the watch the balance wheel effortlessly breaths on top of the dial of the watch. And when you flip the watch over, the in-house movement created by Kari Voutilainen has a dark VAC finish to it - differently than the normal polished steel look of the previous LM101’s. The new pieces are already sold out, so better join the waitlist!

Enjoy!
