What Watch to buy in 2021

It is a new year and you know what that means - a chance to add some more watches to your collection! Many people want to look forward to the next couple months and leave 2020 far behind. There were some really great watches that were released this year, so it was difficult to narrow down to just a a couple. But here is our take.

The first suggestion actually is a watch we suggested to buy in 2020 but I think it still holds true and that is the Bulgari Octo Finnissimo Chronograph GMT. This watch is something you probably will not see on everyone’s wrist, even though it has been out for over 2 years now. It is probably some of the greatest innovation to come out of watchmaking in the last couple years and really has its own look and personality to it. As I said last year, it is super thin and light and makes it the perfect watch for 2021.

The next watch is Zenith Defy El Primero 21. This watch has very similar aesthetics to that of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus but has its own innovative movement that packs a huge punch. It has the design elements we all love and adds something special from Zenith.

Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept won huge awards at GPHG for how incredibly thin the watch is at 2mm. Now yes, this watch is a concept and is very expensive, but if you have the means, this would be the purchase of the decade. It broke records, won awards and is really a show stopper for anyone collectors collection.

Next up is the Casio G-Shock John Mayer edition. John Mayer is obviously a big watch collector and he created this limited edition G-Shock in collaboration with Casio and Hodinkee. It takes many of its design cues from a Casio keyboard from the 80’s that he lusted after as a kid. It is produced in limited quantities but if you find one it is definitely worth owning.

The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date from Fratello and Oris is our last recommendation. 300 pieces of this watch were created so it might be hard to find these. The dial is deep red colour which really is an interesting look for a watch. We don’t see this colour being used very often in watches so this would really give your collection a completely different look. The Big Crown Pointer Date is also probably one of the best everyday watches one can buy.

Enjoy!
