Ep. 46 - The Meaning of 'Swiss Made' Watches, Watches Made of Recycled Material, and the Geneva Watch Auction
When one is buying a watch, many times they look for the ‘swiss made’ stamp on the dial of the watch as a signature of quality for that watch. But what does that really mean? Is it just a marketing strategy by watch companies to get you to purchase their watches? The New York Times published an interesting article where they go into what this means and what watch manufactures are doing about it. The article discusses the transparency that many companies are moving towards to show people where their materials are sourced from. This even spurred on a movement by manufactures like Panerai, Ulysee Nardin and IWC to create watches from reusable or upcycled material. We give you our thoughts on the article!
