The Oris Big Crown ProPilot X Calibre 115

The Oris Big Crown ProPilot X Calibre 115

A large amount of anticipation and excitement was created around Oris’ newest release in recent weeks. Oris has released a new watch with their own in-house superlative movement, the caliber 115, which boasts a 10 day power reserve. The movement is the showpiece of the release and the design of the watch lent itself to insuring this idea.

The watch itself has a titanium case that measures 44mm in diameter and has a very industrial feel. The bracelet flows very well into each link and reminds some of the back of a cockroach which really brings that industrial feel forward. The finishing on the case also has that type of feel to it.

The dial of the watch is a skeleton dial, allowing for the wearer to see the new in-house movement clearly. The movement has a dark grey finish to it. In its entirety, this type of watch has never really been produced before. It does not have many peers to compare it to, and is definitely much different than the typical Oris watch one would see. This watch really opens a new chapter for Oris when it comes to watchmaking with their new movement as well as design. It is a testiment to what Oris is capable of and what may be in store for the future.

Enjoy!
