10 Year Anniversary, MB&F Legacy Machine X

10 Year Anniversary, MB&F Legacy Machine X

10 years ago, MB&F launched their first of many Legacy Machine watches. To celebrate this incredible milestone, MB&F released the LMX last week. They hosted an really incredible launch live stream on YouTube which to reminisce about the previous Legacy Machines and celebrate their latest creation.

The LMX is described by Max as “the LMX is an LM1 on steroids”. Similar to the LM1, the LMX features two independent time zones, this time the dials are tilted at a 50 degree angle which were first featured on the LM FlyingT and LM Thunderdome. The dials are not the only difference though. The flying balance wheel, a staple to any Legacy Machine line has been upgraded to use inertia blocks. There are also three large wheels on the dial of the watch which are in motion when the time is changed and when seconds elapse.

One of the newest attractions to the Legacy Machine line however is a super innovative rotating power reserve indicator which displays the 7 days power reserve that the watch has now that it features 3 mainspring barrels in its super highly finished movement. The three-dimensional hemispherical power reserve indicator rotates, allowing to wearer a 7 day power reserve countdown or the day of the week.

The watch has hints of just about every Legacy Machine that was created over the last 10 years. Not only is it a super attractive watch, it has some incredibly difficult watchmaking feats to match. One of the reasons the Legacy Machine line is our favourites is because it pay tribute to the watchmakers before us, the watchmakers who made these incredible machines possible, and as Max put it, will be the legacy of MB&F.

Enjoy!
