The MB&F Legacy Machine Thunderdome
It feels as if we say this every time MB&F releases a video, but MB&F have done it again. MB&F released their latest watch from the Legacy Machine line called the Thunderdome. This watch features the largest and fastest triple axis regulating system spinning in 8 seconds, 12 seconds and 20 seconds respectively.
The creation also brought together two of the most legendary watchmakers - Eric Coudray and Kari Voutilainen who worked collaboratively to bring this piece of life. The case comes in platinum and tantalum and measures 44mm by 22mm. The movement includes three mainspring barrels with 45 hours of power reserve. The design of watch is similar to the first ladies watch from MB&F called the Flying T with a tilted dial displaying the hours and minutes. The watch also features a power reserve indicator on the back of the movement. The dial comes in light blue and dark blue guilloche and a aventurine purple dial.
The domed crystal that is iconic the MB&F’s Legacy Machine is huge and draws attention to the massive regulating system. The bridge holding the regulator also sits higher on the dial. This watch truly moves watchmaking forward which is something independent watchmakers always are involved in. It retails for $280,000 so while not inexpensive, really is one of a kind in design and functionality.
Enjoy!
