3 Reasons Why 1970's Watches Are Cool
Vintage watches from the 1970’s are an extremely device topic in the watch collecting space. This is because the designs that watch companies came out with were quite audacious and definitely were not the norm of what watch collectors know. Coming out of the 1960’s when watch design was extremely classic and have a true vintage feel, the 70’s brought about strange case shapes and modified dial layouts.
The change in design came from two major trends that emerged during this time period. The first was the variety in clothing style and the second was the quartz crisis that took place. These two factors forced watch companies to be more innovative in their designs in order to entice consumers to purchase their watches.
Some really great watches emerged and the following three reasons are why I believe this era of watches to be so cool for collectors:
You can create a very unique collection with very unique watches.
It shows what a bit of pressure to the Swiss watch industry can create.
The era pushed the boundaries of design.
