The Steel Vacheron Constantin Historiques Cornes de Vache 1955

The Steel Vacheron Constantin Historiques Cornes de Vache 1955

Vacheron Constantin has just released their famous Cornes de Vache in steel, historically this watch was only made in precious metals. This is a very typical trend within high end watchmakers like Piaget.

Vacheron Constantin has only released a limited Hodinkee edition of the Cornes de Vache with a dark grey dial and steel case in 36 pieces. The watches sold extremely quickly which was an obvious identifier for Vacheron Constantin that high end steel watches, namely chronographs are in demand.

The watch measures 38.5mm in diameter making it extremely wearable. The dial features a tachymeter scale around the outside of the dial with two subdials; one for the seconds and one for the 30 minute counter of the chronograph. The hands are blued steel and elongated roman numerals outline the hour markers. The movement powering this beautiful pieces is the Vacheron caliber 1142 (based on the Lemania 2310) and has it all - column wheel and horizontal clutch engagement. What is even better is that the watch features a display caseback displaying an incredible looking movement. All finished to the high degree that Vacheron Constantin upholds.

And all of this for $39,800 making this one of the most accessible high end chronographs on the market.

Enjoy!
