Baselworld Announces its 2022 Return!

It has been about a year and a half since we heard from the MCH Group regarding the famous and long-standing Baselworld watch fair. Back in April of last year, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Tudor, Chanel and Chopard all announced that they would not be attending Baselworld and would instead form their own fair at a similar time to SIHH, or now known as Watches and Wonders.

Well, the MCH Group has finally broken their silence on the famous watch fair that has been taking place in Basel, Switzerland since 1931 and announced that they would be holding their fair in 2022. They even announced dates for the fair which are March 31, 2022, to April 4, 2022. This is a big step, and one that definitely shows that they are ready to compete head-on with Watches and Wonders which will be taking place at a similar time.

It will be interesting to see what brands attend what shows and how the MCH Group is able to get brands to attend their show. Coming out of a difficult time for many brands economically speaking, there has to be some sort of incentive to make them want to return to Messe Basel and showcase their new watches for the year.
